If you’re learning a new language or thinking of learning a new language here’s a tip that I wish someone had told me before: Don’t stress about learning all the grammar at the beginning!
When I first started learning Japanese, I tried mastering the grammar thinking it would help me read/write quicker but since Japanese grammar is pretty complex I soon got overwhelmed.
So my advice would be, even though grammar is important in a language, don’t focus on it too much in the beginning, instead work on expanding your vocabulary and learn phrases that can be used in real conversation. Start with basic phrases like ‘Thank you’ or ‘This is really yummy’. Learning these easier phrases before diving into the grammar makes you more confident and comfortable speaking.
While practising your communication skills, don’t get stuck on perfecting each sentence. The grammar will come naturally as you constantly expose yourself to the language by listening or engaging in conversations. So don’t stress about the grammar and let yourself enjoy the language learning process!
