London is famous for its rainy and chilly weather. However, the time of year you choose to study will affect the weather. London gets frozen winters and warm summers, just like the rest of the United Kingdom. The first thing you need for packing is a best suitcase for study abroad. Here is the list of other important items you should carry:
Passport and Visa:
The most crucial thing on your packing list for any trip overseas is a passport. Naturally, a passport is required in order to enter the United Kingdom. Applying for a visa in advance is also required in the majority of countries providing study abroad programs, so do it before you even begin packing.
Important Documents:
- Passport and Student Visa with extra photocopies
- University enrollment confirmation, acceptance letter, or program verification
- Proof of medical and travel insurance
- Bank Statements and list of Emergency contacts
Local Currency:
It’s a good idea to carry some foreign currency in your wallet at all times in case you wish to dine at a local market or find yourself in an area where credit cards are invalid.
Power Adapters:
On your trip, you’ll probably need a few chargers for your computer, phone, and e-reader. You’ll need a converter and perhaps an adapter for that. In case of a blackout at your study abroad location, it’s also a good idea to bring along a portable solar charger or a reliable power bank.
Clothes and Shoes:
Choose light, breathable clothing if the temperature where you are studying abroad is hot. It’s better to pack clothes that are lightweight and appropriate for all types of weather and activities.
You’ll need three pairs of shoes in particular:
- Flip-flops for bathroom facilities
- Walking shoes that are comfortable
- An elegant pair of shoes that you can wear to dinner or elsewhere.
